This artwork by Jia Aili achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. In the 20th and 21st Century Art Evening Sale auction, the work without title sold for HKD 12,010,000.00 (€ 1,269,549.78) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 6,800,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jia Aili - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Combustion, which sold at auction in November this year for USD 4,769,000.00 (€ 4,372,020.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 77 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jia Aili erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th and 21st Century Art Evening Sale wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für HKD 12.010.000,00 (€ 1.269.549,78) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 6.800.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jia Aili mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Combustion beobachtet, die im November diesen Jahres für USD 4.769.000,00 (€ 4.372.020,54) versteigert wurde.
