Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled - Ai Weiwei by Jia Aili was sold in the Contemporary Art | Hong Kong auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in January 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 21,420.00 (€ 2,277.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jia Aili achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Combustion in November this year with an auction result of USD 4,769,000.00 (€ 4,372,020.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled - Ai Weiwei von Jia Aili wurde im Januar 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Art | Hong Kong bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 21.420,00 (€ 2.277,03) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jia Aili erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Combustion im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.769.000,00 (€ 4.372.020,54).
