This artwork by Jia Aili achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2021. In the 21st Century Art Day Sale auction, the work The God of Small Things sold for HKD 5,625,000.00 (€ 637,148.79) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 2,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jia Aili have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Combustion in November this year with an auction result of USD 4,769,000.00 (€ 4,372,020.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jia Aili erzielte im Dezember 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 21st Century Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit The God of Small Things für HKD 5.625.000,00 (€ 637.148,79) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 2.000.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jia Aili auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Combustion im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.769.000,00 (€ 4.372.020,54).
