Ji Wenyu was born in Shanghai.In 1980,he graduated from Shanghai Art and Design Academy.In 1988,he graduated from the major of Decoration Design from the School of art and Design at Shanghai Institute of Technology.His works were initially displayed at “Shanghai Oil Painting Exhibition” in 1987.After that,he held his first solo exhibition at ShanghART Gallery Shanghai in 1997.In the following year,he was awarded “Freeman Fellow-ship” and relocated to the Vermont Art Studio Centre in America for work and exchange.After that,he successively held exhibitions in Switzerland,Japan,Italy,UK,Demark,Singapore and some other places.In August this year,he exhibited the mo

The work Flower Blossom,Flower Fail No.2(Painted In 2002) by Ji Wenyu was sold in the The Schoeni Family Collection auction at China Guardian in Hong Kong in October 2017. The price achieved of HKD 29,500.00 (€ 3,246.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 20,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ji Wenyu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Happiness for the Children in November 2007 with an auction result of HKD 211,500.00 (€ 18,488.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Flower Blossom,Flower Fail No.2(Painted In 2002) von Ji Wenyu wurde im Oktober 2017 in der Auktion The Schoeni Family Collection bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 29.500,00 (€ 3.246,82) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 20.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ji Wenyu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Happiness for the Children im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 211.500,00 (€ 18.488,97).
