This artwork by Jessie Makinson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May this year. In the 21st Century Art Day Sale auction, the work Downy Ruff sold for HKD 226,800.00 (€ 27,184.49) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jessie Makinson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fluffy Whistle, which sold at auction in March this year for GBP 57,150.00 (€ 65,019.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 89 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jessie Makinson erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 21st Century Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Downy Ruff für HKD 226.800,00 (€ 27.184,49) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 120.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jessie Makinson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fluffy Whistle beobachtet, die im März diesen Jahres für GBP 57.150,00 (€ 65.019,16) versteigert wurde.
