Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Who'S In Charge Here by Jess was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,405.06). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jess achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Embarkation For Kythera in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 132,000.00 (€ 99,540.00).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Who'S In Charge Here von Jess im Juni 2015 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.405,06) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jess erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Embarkation For Kythera im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 132.000,00 (€ 99.540,00).
