This artwork by Jennifer Guidi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October last year. In the 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale auction, the work Purple Rain (Painted Pink Sand SF #2F, Purple CS) sold for GBP 327,600.00 (€ 381,650.37) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 180,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jennifer Guidi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Elements of All Entities (Universe Mandala SF #6G, Green, Black Sand) sold at auction in November 2021 with the realized price of USD 625,000.00 (€ 553,734.38).
