Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Alphabet Eight by Jennifer Bartlett was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art auction at Phillips in New York in July this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 107,950.00 (€ 97,958.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jennifer Bartlett - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Four A.M., which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 262,500.00 (€ 235,447.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Alphabet Eight von Jennifer Bartlett wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 107.950,00 (€ 97.958,26) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Jennifer Bartlett mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Four A.M. beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für USD 262.500,00 (€ 235.447,13) versteigert wurde.
