The work Under the Shadow of... IV by Jehangir Sabavala was sold in the The India Sale - South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in Mumbai in December 2016. The »bidding war« ended at INR 36,325,000.00 (€ 506,043.88), 45% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jehangir Sabavala - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Embarkation, which sold at auction in September 2021 for USD 1,590,000.00 (€ 1,373,412.80).

Die Arbeit Under the Shadow of... IV von Jehangir Sabavala wurde im Dezember 2016 in der Auktion The India Sale - South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in Mumbai versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von INR 36.325.000,00 (€ 506.043,88) und damit 45% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jehangir Sabavala mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Embarkation beobachtet, die im September 2021 für USD 1.590.000,00 (€ 1.373.412,80) versteigert wurde.
