Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October last year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Pipe Opening by Jeff Wall. Here, the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 35,280.00 (€ 35,514.40). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jeff Wall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dead Troops Talk (A vision after an ambush of a Red Army patrol, near Moqor, Afghanistan, winter 1986) in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 3,666,500.00 (€ 2,965,464.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pipe Opening von Jeff Wall zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 35.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 35.280,00 (€ 35.514,40) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jeff Wall erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dead Troops Talk (A vision after an ambush of a Red Army patrol, near Moqor, Afghanistan, winter 1986) im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.666.500,00 (€ 2.965.464,25).
