In October 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Rugburn by Jeff Elrod. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 75,600.00 (€ 89,565.58), 26% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jeff Elrod - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Echo Painting (B/W), which sold at auction in June 2015 for GBP 218,500.00 (€ 308,082.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rugburn von Jeff Elrod zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 75.600,00 (€ 89.565,58) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jeff Elrod mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Echo Painting (B/W) beobachtet, die im Juni 2015 für GBP 218.500,00 (€ 308.082,26) versteigert wurde.
