Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Cheng Chau's temple, Hong Kong by Jean Volang for HKD 11,950.00 (€ 1,701.83). This price was achieved in the auction SOUTHEAST ASIAN & 20TH CENTURY INDIAN PICTURES at Christies in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Volang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le modèle in December 2021 with an auction result of HKD 504,000.00 (€ 57,088.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2002 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Cheng Chau's temple, Hong Kong von Jean Volang für HKD 11.950,00 (€ 1.701,83) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion SOUTHEAST ASIAN & 20TH CENTURY INDIAN PICTURES bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean Volang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le modèle im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 504.000,00 (€ 57.088,53).
