Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nude by Jean Mary Bellette was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in May 2001. The price achieved of AUD 2,350.00 (€ 1,408.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Mary Bellette achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Mourners, c.1970 in April 2021 with an auction result of AUD 17,835.00 (€ 14,825.44).
