Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Girl With A Birdcage Seated In A Landscape by Jean-Honoré Fragonard was sold in the Old Masters auction at Sothebys in New York in June 2020. It changed hands for a price of USD 32,500.00 (€ 28,937.76) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Honoré Fragonard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Verrou (The Bolt) in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 5,172,000.00 (€ 7,681,613.89).
