Auction result well in line with expectations
The work East River/Pont, from Le grand désert d'hommes (The Great Desert of Men) by Jean-Baptiste Sécheret was sold in the Evening & Day Editions auction at Phillips in London in January this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 630.00 (€ 715.06) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Baptiste Sécheret achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fin De Journée Sur Le Port De Gênes (Diptych) in December 2019 with an auction result of EUR 52,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit East River/Pont, from Le grand désert d'hommes (The Great Desert of Men) von Jean-Baptiste Sécheret wurde im Januar diesen Jahres in der Auktion Evening & Day Editions bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 630,00 (€ 715,06) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Sécheret erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fin De Journée Sur Le Port De Gênes (Diptych) im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 52.500,00.
