This work of art by Jan Wyck could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Old Master Pictures auction, the work Two cavalry officers surveying the bombardment of a castle changed hands for GBP 8,962.50 (€ 14,295.54) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jan Wyck have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View Of Sprotborough Hall, Near Doncaster, Yorkshire, With Cattle And Herdsman On The Banks Of The River Don Before in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 45,410.00 (€ 70,238.99).
