In December 2016 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Modern Art, which included the work Still life with flowers in a vase by Jan Wittenberg. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 4,750.00 36% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jan Wittenberg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A still life with white rhodondendrons in a small blue vase in November 2000 with an auction result of NLG 46,808.00 (€ 21,928.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 36 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2016 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Modern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still life with flowers in a vase von Jan Wittenberg zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 4.750,00 und damit 36% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Wittenberg auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A still life with white rhodondendrons in a small blue vase im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 46.808,00 (€ 21.928,80).
