In March 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Quality in Detail. The Juli and Andrew Wieg Collection, which included the work A hilly wooded landscape with a road by a pond by Jan Wildens. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,638.00 (€ 1,924.23), 37% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Wildens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Panoramic view of the city of Antwerp across the River Scheldt in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 425,000.00 (€ 474,762.88).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 37 % übertroffen
Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Quality in Detail. The Juli and Andrew Wieg Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit A hilly wooded landscape with a road by a pond von Jan Wildens zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.638,00 (€ 1.924,23) und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Wildens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Panoramic view of the city of Antwerp across the River Scheldt im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 425.000,00 (€ 474.762,88).
