Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work Landscape With Peasants by Jan Wildens for USD 37,500.00 (€ 27,777.78). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Paintings at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Wildens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Panoramic view of the city of Antwerp across the River Scheldt in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 425,000.00 (€ 474,762.88).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2014 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Landscape With Peasants von Jan Wildens für USD 37.500,00 (€ 27.777,78) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Wildens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Panoramic view of the city of Antwerp across the River Scheldt im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 425.000,00 (€ 474.762,88).
