Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings, which included the work An Extensive Landscape With Figures On A Path In The Foreground by Jan Wijnants. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 25,200.00 (€ 20,665.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jan Wijnants have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape With Sportsmen Resting By A Path in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 75,650.00 (€ 90,601.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Extensive Landscape With Figures On A Path In The Foreground von Jan Wijnants zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 25.200,00 (€ 20.665,90) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Wijnants auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape With Sportsmen Resting By A Path im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 75.650,00 (€ 90.601,56).
