Auction result misses estimated price range
In May this year a collector was able to acquire the work An extensive landscape with figures on a path in the foreground by Jan Wijnants for USD 25,200.00 (€ 23,653.09). This price was achieved in the auction Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Wijnants - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape With Sportsmen Resting By A Path, which sold at auction in December 2011 for GBP 75,650.00 (€ 90,601.56).

Im Mai diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit An extensive landscape with figures on a path in the foreground von Jan Wijnants für USD 25.200,00 (€ 23.653,09) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Wijnants mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape With Sportsmen Resting By A Path beobachtet, die im Dezember 2011 für GBP 75.650,00 (€ 90.601,56) versteigert wurde.
