Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A stream with a peasant woman crossing a footbridge by Jan Wijnants was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 37,500.00 (€ 28,729.03). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Wijnants - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape With Sportsmen Resting By A Path, which sold at auction in December 2011 for GBP 75,650.00 (€ 90,601.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A stream with a peasant woman crossing a footbridge von Jan Wijnants im Januar 2012 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 37.500,00 (€ 28.729,03) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Wijnants mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape With Sportsmen Resting By A Path beobachtet, die im Dezember 2011 für GBP 75.650,00 (€ 90.601,56) versteigert wurde.
