The »bidding war« ended at EUR 2,629.00 64% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Vrolijk - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dutch Early Morning, which sold at auction in April 2008 for EUR 6,850.00.

Die Arbeit A cow in a field von Jan Vrolijk wurde im Juni 2002 in der Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS & DRAWINGS INCLUDING FLOWER PICTURES bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 2.629,00 und damit 64% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Vrolijk mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dutch Early Morning beobachtet, die im April 2008 für EUR 6.850,00 versteigert wurde.
