Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Camera Oscura #4 (Arlecchino) by Jan Vercruysse for USD 437.50 (€ 363.92). This price was achieved in the auction First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Vercruysse achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Atopie Iii, In 3 Parts in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 34,000.00 (€ 21,839.67).
