Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A peasant couple carousing in an inn by Jan Steen was sold in the Old Masters Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in July 2019. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 100,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 106,250.00 (€ 116,655.44). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Steen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Prayer Before The Meal in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 5,641,250.00 (€ 6,957,227.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A peasant couple carousing in an inn von Jan Steen wurde im Juli 2019 in der Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 100.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 106.250,00 (€ 116.655,44) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Steen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Prayer Before The Meal im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.641.250,00 (€ 6.957.227,93).
