Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jan Sanders van Hemessen could be acquired at Christies in New York in January this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve auction, the work A Vanitas: As we are born, we die changed hands for USD 655,200.00 (€ 603,426.05) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000,000.00 – 1,500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Sanders van Hemessen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Double Portrait Of A Husband And Wife, Half-Length, Seated At A Table, Playing Tables in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 10,036,000.00 (€ 9,001,704.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
