In March 2012 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now, which included the work A couple out for a stroll by Jan Rijlaarsdam. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 2,000.00 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jan Rijlaarsdam have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Flowergirl in June 2001 with an auction result of NLG 18,800.00 (€ 9,036.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im März 2012 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Nineteen to Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit A couple out for a stroll von Jan Rijlaarsdam zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 2.000,00 und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Rijlaarsdam auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Flowergirl im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 18.800,00 (€ 9.036,16).
