Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2009 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now, art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries, including Topographical Observations, African and Indonesian Pictures, which included the work A town square in paris by Jan Rijlaarsdam. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 3,250.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Rijlaarsdam - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Flowergirl, which sold at auction in June 2001 for NLG 18,800.00 (€ 9,036.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2009 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Nineteen to Now, art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries, including Topographical Observations, African and Indonesian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A town square in paris von Jan Rijlaarsdam zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 3.250,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Rijlaarsdam mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Flowergirl beobachtet, die im Juni 2001 für NLG 18.800,00 (€ 9.036,16) versteigert wurde.
