Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of Three Children In A Landscape by Jan Mijtens was sold in the Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 22,500.00 (€ 15,160.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Mijtens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Double portrait of two children in a landscape, a dog at their side in May this year with an auction result of GBP 132,300.00 (€ 153,931.93).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of Three Children In A Landscape von Jan Mijtens wurde im Januar 2008 in der Auktion Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 15.160,70) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Mijtens erzielen.
