Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A group portrait of a family in a landscape by Jan Mijtens was sold in the OLD MASTER PICTURES auction at Christies in London in October 2003. The price achieved of GBP 9,560.00 (€ 13,963.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Mijtens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Double portrait of two children in a landscape, a dog at their side in May this year with an auction result of GBP 132,300.00 (€ 153,931.93).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 9.560,00 (€ 13.963,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Mijtens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Double portrait of two children in a landscape, a dog at their side im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 132.300,00 (€ 153.931,93).
