Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2011 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings, which included the work Portrait of a lady as Diana, three-quarter-length, in a blue dress with pearls, holding a bow in her left hand and an arrow in her right, in a landscape by Jan Mijtens. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 21,250.00 (€ 23,931.16). Admittedly, works by Jan Mijtens have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Double portrait of two children in a landscape, a dog at their side in May this year with an auction result of GBP 132,300.00 (€ 153,931.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a lady as Diana, three-quarter-length, in a blue dress with pearls, holding a bow in her left hand and an arrow in her right, in a landscape von Jan Mijtens zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 21.250,00 (€ 23.931,16) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Mijtens auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Double portrait of two children in a landscape, a dog at their side im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 132.300,00 (€ 153.931,93).
