Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Portrait of A Lady, Full-Length, In A White Satin Dress And Blue Wrap, Seated In A Garden With A Spaniel Nearby by Jan Mijtens was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 5,400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Mijtens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Double portrait of two children in a landscape, a dog at their side in May this year with an auction result of GBP 132,300.00 (€ 153,931.93).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Portrait of A Lady, Full-Length, In A White Satin Dress And Blue Wrap, Seated In A Garden With A Spaniel Nearby von Jan Mijtens im Mai 2006 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 5.400,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Mijtens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Double portrait of two children in a landscape, a dog at their side im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 132.300,00 (€ 153.931,93).
