This artwork by Jan Mankes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in December 2007. In the Twentieth Century Art auction, the work Self Portrait sold for EUR 78,250.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jan Mankes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bomenrij in June 2004 with an auction result of EUR 417,450.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jan Mankes erzielte im Dezember 2007 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Twentieth Century Art wurde die Arbeit Self Portrait für EUR 78.250,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 35.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Mankes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bomenrij im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 417.450,00.
