Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mother In An Interior by Jan Mankes was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 150,000.00 – 200,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 145,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Mankes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bomenrij, which sold at auction in June 2004 for EUR 417,450.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Mother In An Interior von Jan Mankes im Juni 2014 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 150.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 145.500,00 den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Mankes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bomenrij beobachtet, die im Juni 2004 für EUR 417.450,00 versteigert wurde.
