This artwork by Jan Lebenstein achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April 2021. In the Joseph H. Hirshhorn: Collector for a Nation, Part II auction, the work Axial Figure #68 sold for USD 75,600.00 (€ 62,842.89) - well above the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jan Lebenstein; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Figure Xviii sold at auction in June 2021 with the realized price of EUR 87,500.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jan Lebenstein erzielte im April 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Joseph H. Hirshhorn: Collector for a Nation, Part II wurde die Arbeit Axial Figure #68 für USD 75.600,00 (€ 62.842,89) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 35.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jan Lebenstein; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Figure Xviii im Juni 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 87.500,00.
