This work of art by Jan Lebenstein could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in April 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Joseph H. Hirshhorn: Collector for A Nation - An Online Sale auction, the work Axial Figure #197 changed hands for USD 22,500.00 (€ 20,538.57) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jan Lebenstein have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Figure Xviii in June 2021 with an auction result of EUR 87,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jan Lebenstein konnte im April 2020 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Joseph H. Hirshhorn: Collector for A Nation - An Online Sale wechselte die Arbeit Axial Figure #197 für USD 22.500,00 (€ 20.538,57) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Lebenstein auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Figure Xviii im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 87.500,00.
