Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Animal Ii by Jan Lebenstein was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2021. The price achieved of USD 27,720.00 (€ 23,042.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Lebenstein - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Figure Xviii, which sold at auction in June 2021 for EUR 87,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Animal Ii von Jan Lebenstein kam im April 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 27.720,00 (€ 23.042,39) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Lebenstein mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Figure Xviii beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für EUR 87.500,00 versteigert wurde.
