Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2009 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now, art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries, including Topographical Observations, African and Indonesian Pictures, which included the work Voorstraathaven, Dordrecht: a canal with the Grote Kerk in the distance by Jan Korthals. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 1,200.00 – 1,600.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 1,250.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jan Korthals have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Grimburgwal in winter, Amsterdam in February 2008 with an auction result of EUR 9,850.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2009 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Nineteen to Now, art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries, including Topographical Observations, African and Indonesian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Voorstraathaven, Dordrecht: a canal with the Grote Kerk in the distance von Jan Korthals zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.200,00 – 1.600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 1.250,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Korthals auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Grimburgwal in winter, Amsterdam im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 9.850,00.
