Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View of the Prins Hendrikkade with the Schreierstoren and the St. Nicolaas church beyond, Amsterdam by Jan Korthals was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in March 2011. The price achieved of EUR 3,750.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Korthals - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Grimburgwal in winter, Amsterdam, which sold at auction in February 2008 for EUR 9,850.00.

Die Arbeit View of the Prins Hendrikkade with the Schreierstoren and the St. Nicolaas church beyond, Amsterdam von Jan Korthals kam im März 2011 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 3.750,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Korthals mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Grimburgwal in winter, Amsterdam beobachtet, die im Februar 2008 für EUR 9.850,00 versteigert wurde.
