The work Moored boats in an Amsterdam canal by Jan Korthals was sold in the Nineteen to Now, art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries, including Topographical Observations, African and Indonesian Pictures auction at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2009. The price achieved of EUR 2,500.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Korthals - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Grimburgwal in winter, Amsterdam, which sold at auction in February 2008 for EUR 9,850.00.
