Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Jacob Spohler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A winter landscape with numerous skaters on a frozen waterway, Dordrecht in the distance in April 2006 with an auction result of EUR 156,000.00.
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Sailing on calm waters, a town in the distance von Jan Jacob Spohler kam im Mai 2012 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 6.000,00 entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Jacob Spohler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A winter landscape with numerous skaters on a frozen waterway, Dordrecht in the distance im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 156.000,00.
