Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2012 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters and 19th Century Art, which included the work Figures in a church interior by Jan Jacob Schenkel. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 2,750.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jan Jacob Schenkel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Figures in the Nieuwe Kerk, Amsterdam in October 2004 with an auction result of EUR 19,120.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2012 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Masters and 19th Century Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figures in a church interior von Jan Jacob Schenkel zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 2.750,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Jacob Schenkel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Figures in the Nieuwe Kerk, Amsterdam im Oktober 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 19.120,00.
