The work The commence of the service by Jan Jacob Schenkel was sold in the PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS INCL. COPIES AFTER OMPIX auction at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2001. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 2,115.00 51% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jan Jacob Schenkel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Figures in the Nieuwe Kerk, Amsterdam in October 2004 with an auction result of EUR 19,120.00.

Die Arbeit The commence of the service von Jan Jacob Schenkel wurde im September 2001 in der Auktion PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS INCL. COPIES AFTER OMPIX bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 2.115,00 und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Jacob Schenkel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Figures in the Nieuwe Kerk, Amsterdam im Oktober 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 19.120,00.
