This artwork by Jan Jacob Schenkel achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in March 2001. In the PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction, the work A church interior with worshippers (St. Laurenskerk, Alkmaar?) sold for NLG 3,525.00 (€ 1,632.63) - well above the upper estimate of NLG 1,600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Jacob Schenkel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Figures in the Nieuwe Kerk, Amsterdam in October 2004 with an auction result of EUR 19,120.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jan Jacob Schenkel erzielte im März 2001 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS wurde die Arbeit A church interior with worshippers (St. Laurenskerk, Alkmaar?) für NLG 3.525,00 (€ 1.632,63) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von NLG 1.600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Jacob Schenkel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Figures in the Nieuwe Kerk, Amsterdam im Oktober 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 19.120,00.
