Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter-length, in a garden, in an embroidered jacket and a red gown by Jan de Baen was sold in the OLD MASTER PICTURES auction at Christies in London in October 2002. The price achieved of GBP 4,700.00 (€ 7,434.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jan de Baen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a man standing before a desk and curtain, three-quarter length; Portrait of a woman seated before a landscape and curtain in May last year with an auction result of USD 69,300.00 (€ 64,579.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter-length, in a garden, in an embroidered jacket and a red gown von Jan de Baen wurde im Oktober 2002 in der Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.700,00 (€ 7.434,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan de Baen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of a man standing before a desk and curtain, three-quarter length; Portrait of a woman seated before a landscape and curtain im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 69.300,00 (€ 64.579,26).
