Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still life with two lobsters, an overturned tankard, a berkemeier glass, grapes, and a lemon by Jan Davidsz. de Heem was sold in the Master Paintings Part II auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2021. The price achieved of USD 63,000.00 (€ 51,915.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Davidsz. de Heem achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A banquet still life in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 5,766,000.00 (€ 6,441,135.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Still life with two lobsters, an overturned tankard, a berkemeier glass, grapes, and a lemon von Jan Davidsz. de Heem wurde im Januar 2021 in der Auktion Master Paintings Part II bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 63.000,00 (€ 51.915,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Davidsz. de Heem erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A banquet still life im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.766.000,00 (€ 6.441.135,90).
