The »bidding war« ended at USD 825,000.00 (€ 555,892.46), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Davidsz. de Heem achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A banquet still life in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 5,766,000.00 (€ 6,441,135.90).
