Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pigsty with flail by Jan Adam Zandleven was sold in the PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS & DRAWINGS INCLUDING FLOWER PICTURES auction at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2002. It changed hands for a price of EUR 2,151.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 1,800.00 – 2,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Adam Zandleven - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A blossoming tree, which sold at auction in January 2001 for NLG 15,275.00 (€ 6,684.04).

Die Arbeit Pigsty with flail von Jan Adam Zandleven wurde im Juni 2002 in der Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS & DRAWINGS INCLUDING FLOWER PICTURES bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 2.151,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.800,00 – 2.200,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Adam Zandleven mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A blossoming tree beobachtet, die im Januar 2001 für NLG 15.275,00 (€ 6.684,04) versteigert wurde.
