Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Royal Southampton Yacht Club's J-Class Solent Regatta, 18th - 20th July 2012: Lionheart powering downwind ahead of Velsheda, Rainbow and Ranger by Jamie Medlin was auctioned at Christies in New York in July this year. The price achieved of GBP 12,600.00 (€ 14,700.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jamie Medlin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mariquita racing to windward during the Pendennis Cup, 2010, which sold at auction in November 2011 for GBP 49,250.00 (€ 57,494.33).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.600,00 (€ 14.700,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jamie Medlin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mariquita racing to windward during the Pendennis Cup, 2010 beobachtet, die im November 2011 für GBP 49.250,00 (€ 57.494,33) versteigert wurde.
