Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2020 Bonhams in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work A waterside mill by James Webb. The price achieved of GBP 2,550.00 (€ 2,846.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Webb achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ansicht von Köln mit dem unvollendeten Dom in May 2020 with an auction result of EUR 185,938.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2020 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A waterside mill von James Webb zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.550,00 (€ 2.846,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Webb erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ansicht von Köln mit dem unvollendeten Dom im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 185.938,00.
